thrifty

Picked this beauty up yesterday for a buck fifty. It was half off. I loved it at first glance. At the same time I was a little unsure about it. It hits me at that funny mid-calf spot. But with a cute tank and my Saltwater sandals I think it pushes it over the granny edge.

I've thrifted a bunch of great clothes for Nelson too. I just need to take pics of them. Does anyone else buy clothes for their kid that they won't be able to wear for a year or two or three? It kind of makes me feel like a hoarder, but when I find an amazing something for pennies and it's a 2T or 3T I buy it anyway. I promise to stop when his dresser and closet are filled.

i have a whole giant rubbermaid container of the next few sizes. most of my stuff is hand-me-downs but if I see something exceptionally cute at a thrift or consignment shop (or even new sometimes) I'll buy ahead. So far it's worked out well.

YES! I definitely buy things for Sierra that she wears 1 or 2 years later. And I'm usually really glad I have them when one day her cloths don't fit and *poof* I have some new cloths at hand that do. Otherwise at the moment of crisis you're out looking for clothing and likely getting things that are more expensive out of necessity.

I am a huge thrifter - and I buy stuff that is waaaay too big for my kiddo all the time. I like stuff that is unique and one of a kind, so if I see something that I love, I snap it up. Especially at thrifted prices - $1.47 for a black hoodie with cassette tapes printed on it? Yes please! I seriously found that hoodie the other day and about threw a party, even though it was a 2T. Also - thanks for commenting on my blog - how in the world did you stumble across it?

Yes, definitely, and my kid doesn't even exist yet. It only makes good sense to buy something you come across that you know you won't likely find again. Especially if it's an amazing deal. In the long run, I know that it's saving me tons of money. The other option would be to buy all of the clothes all at once when the child was a certain size, leading me to have to choose stuff I wasn't entirely crazy about and spending more money than I am comfortable with. Keep buying, I say!
