mornings

D and I are still having breakfast in bed most mornings. Now our routine includes a little boy who lies between us. Nelson isn't the best sleeper quite yet, but having a homemade baked good and black coffee makes all my mornings good.

raspberry-lime scones
The raspberries came from a couple of plants our 90 year old neighbor dug up for us to transplant last summer.

Wowzers. Impressed at the baked good and the breakfast in bed routine :) love it. what time do you get this started and do you make the b-fast each morning fresh?

We make a batch of the baked goods ahead of time. The day we run out we usually make something that night. Nelson wakes up anywhere between 6 to 8am. When he's up D brews the coffee and brings in the goods.

Happy Birthday week, Leigh!

I love the top photo so much! I think you should print and frame it as a reminder of these beautiful days of breakfast in bed with the baby.

Unfortunately my "baby" wakes up promptly at 6:30 a.m. and demands to go downstairs and watch t.v. Sigh.

Having my husband make me a latte every morning almost makes up for that.

I love coffee-making husbands.

I want to know how you can do the following: bake, garden, blog. Do tell...

Christie - Do NOT come over to our house. Our yard and garden are a hot mess. In fact, I don't know if you could even find the raspberry bushes amidst all the weeds. The key to baking I found is throwing it together while making another meal. And the blogging is only happening because the little man decided to take longer naps all of a sudden. We will see what kind of napping mood he is in next week.
